Local high school hustle that’s @madeinorangecounty! This freshly squeezed episode features @hdcutzzz_ and its founders, Armando and Jose, two high school brothers who turned their pandemic downtime into a neighborhood barbershop.

Armando, the savvy investor, and Jose, the talented barber, are a dynamic duo. While both are self-taught, Jose quickly became the go-to talent for their clients, and Armando stepped up as the financial investor in the family business.

Together, they’ve built a community hub where they love cutting hair for friends and family.

Their big dream is to expand into a luxury mobile barbershop. These young entrepreneurs embody the hustle and heart that’s Made in OC.

Over a decade ago, Gina Rodriguez transformed Moda 2000 into a premier quinceañera fashion hub, offering a personalized and delightful shopping experience. In Latino culture, a quinceañera symbolizes a girl’s 15th birthday, celebrating her transition to womanhood with grand festivities and exquisite ballgowns.

The transformation was financially challenging for the Rodriguez family. They sold their home and lived in the store for three years to rebuild their inventory and customer base. Amid these challenges, social media presented a unique opportunity. Orange County Love! In celebration of Women’s History Month, this edition of @madeinorangecounty highlights Mai Ly, one of the founders of @7leavescafe . The immigrant family established a coffee chain in the heart of Orange County in 2012.

With diverse backgrounds, including law, banking, sales, and engineering, the group got to work with determination. Armed with pots and spatulas, they mixed, stirred, and infused the kitchen with the fragrant aromas of chrysanthemum, jasmine tea leaves, longan fruit, cane sugar, artichoke, and other herbs. Meticulously attending to each detail of the brewing process, they didn’t just create the 7 Leaves Herbal Tea; they crafted a vision.

Their offerings epitomize coffee, tea, and goodness. Beginning humbly in a 1,100-square-foot store nestled in the heart of Little Saigon in 2011, a close-knit group of brothers and friends laid the foundation. Today, 7 Leaves spans Orange County, expanding from the south to the north of California. Their ambitions extend beyond, aiming to serve communities nationwide, with plans to venture into Nevada, Texas, and beyond.

Made in Orange County! Our latest freshly @madeinorangecouty episode features Chris Tran owner of @littlesaigon.official and Collectibles in Little Saigon, Westminster, Cali., who is working to preserve the culture and history of the Vietnamese American community through art, fashion and food.

The Fall of Saigon not only marked the end of US involvement in the Vietnam War, but also forced the migration of thousands of displaced Vietnamese peoples to America in search of safety and new opportunities. Although this displacement seemed intimidating with all of the unknowns that come with seeking refuge in a new country, it led to the creation of a united community whose influence can still be felt to this day.
